Embarking on a journey from your home country to an unfamiliar foreign land for the first time can evoke a sense of adventure reminiscent of historical explorations, filled with uncertainties, apprehensions, and obstacles.
To enhance your travel experience, consider booking your flights through a travel agent who can provide support in case of any unforeseen issues or emergencies.
Alternatively, you have the option to make your own online bookings.
We recommend that our clients secure travel insurance for added peace of mind during their trip. Below is a list of recommended travel agents, chosen for their extensive experience in catering to hunters, having been in the industry for many years.
Traveling with rifles, ammunition, and specialized equipment presents unique challenges, and these agents are well-equipped to assist. Many of them offer meet-and-greet services at Johannesburg Airport and can facilitate the importation of your firearms.
To accommodate the distances from the camps, we advise our clients to arrive the day prior and secure overnight lodging. This will allow Kuche staff to pick them up the following morning at their accommodation.
If your arrival is after 7 PM, we will need to arrange for an overnight stay at a hotel due to safety concerns associated with nighttime travel, including the presence of stray animals. This accommodation will be at your expense, and we will ensure that it is comfortable, safe, and reasonably priced.
Traveling with firearms presents various challenges as you move from one location to another. When journeying through Europe, including London or destinations in the Middle East, it is essential to obtain pre-approved permits for your rifles. Some regions may also require similar permits for bows. It is advisable to verify these requirements with your travel agent, as assistance may be limited if issues arise in a foreign country.
Emirates and Qatar are generally more accommodating regarding the transportation of firearms. A convenient option is to fly directly with Delta from Atlanta to Johannesburg’s OR Tambo Airport.
For flights connecting through Amsterdam, you can reach out to Jamie Cowan at EEM Logistics at +1 (915) 491-0199 or via email at jamie@eemlogistics.com. They can assist you with the transportation of your rifles for a fee.
