Kuche Safaris is operated by Koos de Meyer, who began his hunting journey at a young age and possesses extensive experience in the field. He is married to Sharon, and together they have two children, Cobus and Zandra, who reside at the camp, fostering a warm family environment.

Cobus, having grown up alongside his father in the hunting industry, has accumulated significant experience. After completing his education, he pursued a professional hunters course and is now a full-time guide at Kuche Safaris. Zandra, after finishing her studies in Somatology, spent time in the USA, where she worked for two seasons at Carnaval Cruise Lines in the spa.

Since 2015, Zandra has been part of Kuche Safaris, focusing on the comfort of the non-hunters and managing the camp. Before venturing into the hunting business, Koos served in the South African police force in Pretoria, the nation’s capital. His work spanned various sectors, including vehicle theft and organized crime, allowing him to travel extensively across southern Africa. It was during this time that he encountered the term “Kuche,” which in Swahili translates to “to be busy and happy from dawn to dusk,” reflecting the promise of Kuche Safaris.

Throughout his tenure in law enforcement, he engaged in part-time hunting for some of the prominent organizations of that era, acquiring substantial knowledge regarding effective practices and pitfalls to avoid, all aimed at ensuring a rewarding safari experience.

Upon concluding his police career, he established Kuche Safaris from the ground up, transforming it into the thriving enterprise it is today.
